More than 100 projects sent their application to the 7th Edition of the ICCL award on Sustainable Buildings in Castilla y Leon (Spain) organised by the Instituto de la Construcción de Castilla y León. 66 out of 102 passed to the technical evaluation stage and only 20 were finally awarded next 11 December in front of a crowded audience.
The CITyFiED project was among the winners. The EU-funded Smart City project was nominated as Best Collective Building for its activities in the Torrelago district in Valladolid, which acknowledges CITyFiED’s commitment towards inclusive and smart solutions for its cities. CITyFiED coordinator CARTIF got the award handed out by Carlos Miranda, President of the ICCL (Instituto de la Construction de Castilla y Leon).
The award aims at giving relevance to those projects that are at the top in the integration of sustainable solutions in buildings, by promoting new methods to improve energy efficiency while cutting negative environmental impacts like GHG emissions and overexploitation of natural resources.
The ICCL award adds up to the numerous prizes collected by the project during its five years and once again this last award highlights the commitment of the project and its partners to building efficient districts and cities.
