Brokarage Event on EU Horizon 2020 on Smart Cities and Communities was jointly organized by
Tubitak, the National Contact Point for EU Framework Programmes in Turkey and Ozyegin University Technology Transfer Office in İstanbul on the
13th of October 2015. Demir Enerji was invited to the even for a presentation entitled "Success Stories". Being the coordinator of the Turkish project teams for both
Cityfied and
Remourban, two of the largest projects won by Turkey from the 7th and 8th Framework Programmes, Demir was thought to fit that bill .
Dr. Baha Kuban from Demir, after briefly explaining EU approach to Smart City projects, summarized the nature and extent of interventions in both Cityfied and Remourban projects. Kuban went on to present lessons learned from proposal stages, budget and finances, consortium building- Suggestions to local governments and national bodies such as Tubitak followed, on project selection and development, capacity building and SME support.
